House Explosion in Towamening Trails
2023-117 – House Explosion
On Tuesday, July 25th, 2023, at approximately 0920, Districts 22, 12, and Lehighton ALS were dispatched to a possible house explosion in Towamensing Trails. Deputy Chief 2202 arrived to find a residence on Bradstreet Circle with heavy fire as a result of an explosion believed to be caused by a propane leak. Tanker 2233, Engine 2210, Ladder 2222, and Rescue 2255 responded with twenty-four volunteers. Carbon Districts 12, 16, 17, 11, 4, Monroe Stations 42, 35, 41, and Lehighton ALS also responded. The investigation was turned over to the PSP Troop N Fire Marshals and ATF. Crews remained onscene until the propane leak was contained by the utility company. There were also no injuries during the incident. Special thanks to Palmerton Fire Department for standing by and covering the multiple other calls that came during the day. Also a quick thanks to Penn Forest Township and Towamensing Trails for providing resources to assist with extinguishment.
