Township volunteers handled five incidents throughout the recent snowstorm.
Rescue 2255 and Utility 2279 with UTV 2278 and eleven volunteers responded to a possible search on Winding Way, Indian Mountain Lakes. An additional fifteen volunteers stood-by at station in the event additional equipment or personnel was needed.
Nine Fire Police officers, with District 12’s fire police, had closed Route 903 temporarily due to a motor vehicle accident.
Twenty-one volunteers also responded for a motor vehicle accident on Maury Road which was handled by District 12.

Junior Firefighter Rudy Johnston, along with other volunteers, will be out this Saturday (4/3/2021) from 9 AM until 12 PM doing a boot drive within the Towamensing Trails entrance off Route 903 (by the teepee and Pope Lane.) They will be raising money for his Eagle Scout project that will be benefiting the fire company by providing training props to the firefighters. On March 25th, we said farewell to Tanker 2236 as she is on her way to her new home in Connecticut. Officers will be flying out to South Dakota in mid-April for final inspection of Tanker 2233 and are expecting delivery shortly after. Mutual aid agreements are in place in the event an incident arises so there is no delay of water within the township during this time.On March 30th, we received the attached photos of Tanker 2233. Volunteers participated in a demo for a F.A.S.T. board yesterday evening which assists in rescues of firefighters and patient packaging and extrication. Earlier in the morning, volunteers were dispatched to a reported structure fire on Moseywood Road, Split Rock. Engine 2210 was cancelled as the unit went responding. Engine 2210 responded to a working dwelling fire on Lehigh Avenue, Palmerton Borough. Volunteers originally stood by, along with Truck 1321 at Palmerton’s station for any other incidents and then were requested to the scene for manpower. The crew remained on scene for five hours and were also able to rescue two kittens from the residence. Multiple departments from Carbon, Northampton, and Lehigh Counties also responded.
